How to rip a CDG Karaoke
disc
to your hard drive Using Cdrwin 3.9x
Note: You will need a CDG
compatible drive to use this method.
This tutorial will walk you through
the basic steps to rip
karaoke tracks from a CD+G disc to your computer hard drive.
First if you dont alresdy heve Cdrwin
installed get it here.
Once installed open Cdrwin.
A window should open on your desktop
like the one shown in the picture below
Next click the Extract Disc/Tracks/Sectors
button (see picture below)
Now you should see a screen that
looks like this
(the numbered arrows are explained below):
#1 - Mark the Select Tracks Option
#2 - If you have more than on CD
ROM drive,
make sure the one that has the CDG cd in it is in the window
#3 - Select a folder on your drive
to save the files to
(note: this walk through is burning an entire disc
and therefore named the file with the CD list number followed by
a" -" mark, the program will number the tracks as will be explained
further down)
#4 - This is where the tracks on
the CD will be listed for you to select from (more on that further
down)
#5 - Make sure to make BOTH the RAW and the CD+G boxes
#6 - To help get clean useable rips,
the general rule of thumb for speed settings is one half the maximum
burn speed of your drive, i.e. if you have a 4 speed burner, rip
at 2X.8 speed rip at 4X..12 speed rip at 6X .etc. (note: the author
does not have time concerns and therefore always rips and burns
at speeds NO higher than 4X)
#7 - Mark the Name Files Sequentially
option for the program to number the tracks as they are on the disc
(note: having the file name as the list number "SC2100-" then you
will have finished files named SC2100-01, SC2100-02, SC2100-03 etc)
Now Click the Select All button (see
arrow section #4)
There should now be black circles
around each of the red track numbers listed.
Click the START button at the lower
right corner.
There will be a small window that
tracks the progress of each track ripped
At the end of the last track, you
should get a window that says job Successfully Completed
You now have .bin files on your drive
that may be burned to make a copy CD+G disc or converted to MP3+G
format with MP3+G toolz for use on the PC.
You can also now rename the files
from the saved format to the generally accepted format
(disc# - track# - Song Title - Singer/Artist
example: SC2100-01-I've Got You Under My Skin - Sinatra, Frank
)
